Five walks from the front door

Five walks from the front door

No car needed. From half an hour along the river to a full day in the Ports.

Most guests arrive by car and hardly use it again. These are the walks we send people on, from the gentlest to the longest. All of them start at the front door.

Short and easy

1. The river and the castle. The river path to the old bridge takes twenty-five minutes and ends at the castle. Go late in the afternoon, when the stone turns orange.

2. The olive groves. The loop through the olive groves behind the house is an hour, flat and shaded in the afternoon. Good with children and after a long lunch.

A little longer

3. The pine woods. A marked path climbs through the pines to a viewpoint over the whole valley. Two hours there and back, with one steep stretch near the top.

4. To Beceite. The old mule track to Beceite follows the Matarraña for two hours. You can walk back or ask us to pick you up, and the bakery in the square is worth the detour.

A full day

5. The Estrets. Upstream from Beceite the river narrows into a gorge, with green pools you can swim in from June to September. It is five or six hours there and back. We print you the route, pack a lunch and tell you where the water is coldest.

Before you go

Wear proper shoes, take water even on short walks and tell us which route you are on. There is little phone signal in the gorges, and we like to know when to expect you back.
